MOMOLAND‘s agency, MLD Entertainment, is currently facing financial difficulties.
According to South Korean media outlet Maeil Business News, MLD has encountered financial difficulties, leading to unpaid wages for its employees.
Most of the staff have left the company, and fewer than five employees remain. Those who departed due to the delayed salaries did not receive severance pay. Although these former employees reported the issue to the Labor Bureau, only a portion of the overdue wages have been paid.
Currently, the company represents Lapillus and the Philippine group HORI7ON. It was recently discovered that the trademark for Lapillus was abandoned due to unpaid registration fees, as indicated by the Korea Intellectual Property Office, with the abandonment date listed as March 8, 2024.
“MLD” was founded in 2015. It is known for producing the girl group Momoland whose song “BBoom Bboom” and “BAAM” were a huge hit. The group effectively disbanded in January 2023.
