The virtual K-Pop boy group PLAVE has recently emerged as one of the industry’s most popular rookies.

Recently, they set a new record by entering Melon’s prestigious “Billions Club” in the shortest time ever.

On July 17, PLAVE’s cumulative streams for their songs reached 1.00362 billion, successfully earning them a place in the “Billions Club” on the Melon music platform. As of July 2024, out of approximately 3 million artists on Melon, only 109 have achieved the milestone of 1 billion cumulative streams.

Melon’s Hall of Fame includes categories like the “Million Album,” which acknowledges albums that achieve 1 million streams within 24 hours of their release, and the “Billions Club,” which honors artists whose albums have accumulated over 1 billion streams since their debut.

PLAVE joined the Billions Club a mere 494 days after their debut on March 12, 2023, surpassing the previous record of 498 days set by NewJeans.

The group’s accomplishment is especially notable, given that all 16 songs released since their debut were both written and composed by the group members themselves.
