Recently, the British band Shakatak has accused NewJeans of plagiarizing their song with the release of “Bubble Gum.”

In the meantime, another recent release titled “How Sweet” has come under scrutiny for its perceived resemblance to other artists’ songs.

The track drawing these comparisons is “Summer Love,” a song released in 2022 by the Malaysian pop band Midnight Fusic.

A comparison video on YouTube highlights the similarities between the two songs, sparking discussion among listeners.

Midnight Fusic appears to be aware of the ongoing debate about the likeness of the songs.
They posted a video on their official Instagram account featuring NewJeans’ “How Sweet.”

It remains uncertain whether Midnight Fusic will take any steps regarding the issue, similar to the actions taken by Shakatak.

Knetizens commented:

1. It sounds different to my ears

2. That similar part is too short, it should be more than a few seconds

3. Wow, the singing tone seems similar

4. I listened to it and it was similar at first but then it changed

5. But it’s too short to be plagiarism

6. I’m not sure about this

7. This is more shocking than bubblegum, it’s so similar

8. It’s exactly the same, it’s so funny

9. Except for the first few seconds, it’s so different

10. It seems too much to call this plagiarism
